Hilton Hotel in closure proposal

Newspaper article by Chris Vedelago about the possible closure of the Hilton Hotel in Clarendon Street, East Melbourne. At the time of the article the owners, Brookfield, had the property and two adjoining properties up for sale. Mention is made of development plans for the adjoining properties and the strong community opposition to them, particularly from the East Melbourne Group. The hotel is now operating under the Pullman brand.
