The houses were sold on behalf of the estate of William Johnston, whose collection of antiques is now housed in The Johnston Collection, East Melbourne. In configuring the houses for use as rental flats Johnston had created an opening between them at the back of the upper levels to allow a small rooom at No 90 to be used as a bathroom by No 88.
No 88 sold for $530,000; No 90 unknown.
